Teddy Bridgewater passed for 328 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Denver Broncos to a 23-13 victory over the host Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Noah Fant and Tim Patrick caught touchdown passes and Courtland Sutton had nine receptions for 159 yards for Denver. Bridgewater completed 26 of 34 passes as the Broncos achieved their first 2-0 start since 2018.
Trevor Lawrence completed 14 of 33 passes for 118 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for Jacksonville (0-2), which dropped its 17th straight game. Jamal Agnew returned a kickoff 102 yards for a score and Marvin Jones II caught six passes for 55 yards and one touchdown.
Kareem Jackson and Patrick Surtain II had interceptions for Denver, which held the Jaguars to 189 yards in Urban Meyer's second game as an NFL head coach. The Broncos totaled 398 yards and controlled the ball for 38 minutes and 52 seconds.
The Broncos lost linebackers Bradley Chubb (ankle) and Josey Jewell (shoulder) to first-half injuries.
Denver led 10-7 at halftime and opened up breathing room with 10 third-quarter points.
The Broncos drove 75 yards on four plays to open the quarter, and Bridgewater capped it with a 14-yard scoring pass to Fant with 12:35 left.
Jackson intercepted Lawrence eight-plus minutes later and Denver cashed in with Brandon McManus' 46-yard field goal to make it 20-7 with 1:04 left in the third.
Lawrence was intercepted again with 10:31 remaining in the game when his deep throw for Tyron Johnson was intercepted by Surtain at the Broncos' 6-yard line. Denver navigated 72 yards on nine plays and McManus booted a 40-yard field goal to make it a 16-point margin with 5:42 left.
Agnew returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, but Lawrence's two-point conversion pass was incomplete. Jacksonville failed to convert the onside kick and didn't possess the ball again.
The Jaguars drove 83 yards on 11 plays in their game-opening drive that concluded with Lawrence firing a 25-yard dart to Jones.
Denver got on the board on a 32-yard field goal from McManus with 26 seconds left in the opening quarter.
The Broncos moved ahead when they traveled 80 yards on eight plays as Bridgewater tossed a 12-yard scoring pass to Patrick with 1:54 left in the half.
Jacksonville's Josh Lambo missed two first-half field goals. He was wide right from 52 yards with 8:39 remaining and wide left from 48 yards with 19 seconds left.
