Rams 24, Redskins 0: Shaun Hill passed for two touchdowns and St. Louis' defense pitched its second straight shutout in a dominant win over host Washington.

The Rams (6-7), who blanked the Raiders 52-0 last Sunday, had not posted back-to-back shutouts since 1945, when they were based in Cleveland, and had recorded a total of three shutouts since moving to St. Louis in 1995 prior to their current streak. Hill was 16-of-22 for 213 yards with a pair of scores to tight end Jared Cook, who made four catches for a team-high 61 yards.

Tavon Austin tacked on his second career punt return for a score as St. Louis pulled away in the second half to win for the third time in four games, allowing a total of seven points in those victories. Colt McCoy was 20-of-32 for 199 yards with two interceptions in place of the benched Robert Griffin III, who essentially was traded from the Rams to the Redskins on draft day in 2012, as Washington (3-10) managed only 206 yards in its fifth straight defeat.

The Rams opened the scoring early in the second quarter, when Hill found Cook wide open over the middle for a 35-yard touchdown, although Greg Zuerlein missed the extra point before misfiring on a 28-yard field-goal attempt on the Rams' next possession and a 38-yard try just before halftime. St. Louis' kicker redeemed himself a bit with a 34-yarder midway through the third quarter before the Redskins failed on a fake punt from their own 33 when punter Tress Way came up three yards shy of the first down.

Three plays later, Hill found Stedman Bailey for a 36-yard gain to the 1 on third-and-12, and Cook was wide open in the back of the end zone on the next play as St. Louis pushed the lead to 17-0. Following another three-and-out by Washington, Austin fielded a punt at the 22 and ran sideline-to-sideline before sprinting 78 yards upfield to the end zone, and the Rams' defense did the rest.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cook, who failed to record a catch for the first time this season in last week's win over Oakland, entered Sunday with one touchdown reception on the year. ... Washington WR Pierre Garcon posted nine receptions for 95 yards to lead the team in both categories, while RB Alfred Morris was held to six yards on eight carries - by far his worst game of the season. ... Griffin came on late and went 3-of-4 for 33 yards and was sacked once on the final drive.
