Dolphins 16, Jets 13: Caleb Sturgis booted his third field goal of the game with 1:57 to play and visiting Miami rallied past one-dimensional New York to keep its playoff hopes alive.

Lamar Miller rushed for 56 yards and scored his team's lone touchdown as the Dolphins (7-5) rallied from a 10-0 deficit. Ryan Tannehill passed for 235 yards, completing 25-of-35 attempts, and orchestrated a nine-play, 57-yard drive setting up Sturgis for the 26-yard game-winner.

With Geno Smith back under center, New York (2-10) turned to the ground game and gashed the Miami defense for 277 yards rushing, but the Jets got nothing from their passing game. Chris Johnson gained 105 yards on 17 carries but New York threw an NFL season-low 13 passes as Smith completed seven attempts for 65 yards and was picked off by Reshad Jones with 34 seconds left to seal the contest.

The Jets ran the ball 14 straight times and finished the first half with 29 carries for 210 yards, the most of any NFL team in the last five years, but led just 10-3 at the break. New York's Greg Salas scored the lone touchdown of the half, capping an 85-yard drive with a 20-yard reverse before the teams traded field goals.

Both teams booted field goals from over 40 yards out on their opening possessions of the second half to make it 13-6 before the Dolphins capitalized on good field position to tie the contest at 13 on a 4-yard run by Miller with 10:24 to play. New York blew a chance to take the lead on its next drive when Nick Folk missed his second field goal of the night, a 45-yarder with 5:42 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tannehill completed at least 70 percent of his passes for the fifth straight game, tying Brett Favre for the third-longest streak in history. ... The Jets played without TE Jace Amaro (concussion) and DE Muhammad Wilkerson (toe). ... Salas injured his hamstring on the TD run and did not return while Miami WR Brian Hartline suffered a knee injury in the first half and also did not return. ...With the win, the Dolphins are currently in sixth place in the AFC standings, although five other teams own 7-5 records.
