Dolphins 22, Bills 9: Ryan Tannehill passed for 240 yards and two touchdowns as host Miami won for the fourth time in five games.

Caleb Sturgis kicked two field goals and Lamar Miller recorded a game-high 86 rushing yards for the Dolphins (6-4), who scored 19 straight points in the second half - two TD passes by Tannehill, a safety and a field goal. Tannehill was an efficient 26-of-34 and found nine different receivers - including himself on a deflected pass - as Miami moved within 1 1/2 games of first-place New England in the AFC East.

Kyle Orton went 22-of-39 for 193 yards for Buffalo (5-5), which lost for the second straight week following its bye. The Bills' Chris Hogan led all players with 74 yards on seven receptions, but the visitors only managed 237 total yards on the night.

The teams began the game by exchanging 14-play drives that each resulted in a field goal before a fumble by Tannehill led to Dan Carpenter's short field goal, capping a 17-play drive that created a 6-3 Buffalo lead at the break. Carpenter's 46-yarder pushed the advantage to 9-3 midway through the third, but the Dolphins answered with an 80-yard drive, highlighted by Tannehill's 7-yard TD pass to a wide-open Brandon Gibson.

Just over a minute later, Orton was called for intentional grounding in the end zone for a safety, pushing the Bills' deficit to 12-9. Following a fumble by Miami, Carpenter missed a 47-yard field goal and the hosts capitalized with Tannehill's 8-yard TD pass to Jarvis Landry with 11 1/2 minutes left before tacking on a 32-yard field goal by Sturgis with about three minutes to go.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Orton hurt his toe late in the contest but there was no mention of the severity of the injury. ... With RB Fred Jackson (groin) unable to play, Bryce Brown got the start for Buffalo but was held to 14 yards on six carries, although he did contribute 57 yards on seven receptions. Anthony Dixon led the Bills with 35 rushing yards on 10 attempts. ... Gibson had not scored a touchdown since Oct. 27 of last season. ... Playing their first game without standout LT Branden Albert (knee), the Dolphins allowed five sacks, including 3 1/2 by LB Mario Williams.
