Packers 31, Jets 24: Aaron Rodgers tossed three touchdowns and Jordy Nelson reeled in a career-high 209 yards receiving and a score as host Green Bay overcame an early 18-point deficit to topple New York.

Rodgers went 25-of-42 for 346 yards and moved past Hall of Famer Bart Starr for the second-most yards in franchise history,- trailing only Brett Favre. Randall Cobb hauled in two touchdown receptions and Nelson finished with nine catches as the Packers (1-1) rebounded from a 36-16 dismantling against Seattle in the season opener.

Geno Smith (16-of-32, 176 yards) tossed a 29-yard touchdown pass to Eric Decker and rushed for another score for the Jets (1-1), who failed to hold an 18-point lead for the first time since 2002 and had an apparent tying TD wiped out late in the game when the team called a timeout. Chris Ivory added a 4-yard score to cap a 17-play drive and give New York a 21-3 lead early in the second quarter.

Green Bay chipped away as Mason Crosby kicked two of his three field goals and Rodgers found Cobb in the end zone with eight seconds remaining in the half. The pair connected again for a 1-yard score with 5:45 remaining in the third to give the Packers a 24-21 lead before Jets kicker Nick Folk booted a 52-yard field goal 3 1/2 minutes later.

The deadlock lasted all of 13 seconds as Nelson made a double move on cornerback Dee Milliner before cutting back across the field for an 80-yard touchdown. New York appeared to have tied the contest with five minutes remaining in the fourth as Smith connected on 36-yard scoring strike to Jeremy Kerley on a fourth-and-4, but the Jets had called a timeout prior to the play to negate the score.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Green Bay shot itself in the foot early as rookie C Corey Linsley and Rodgers fumbled the exchange on the opening play of the first drive. New York DT Sheldon Richardson recovered the ball and Smith opened the scoring 1:59 into the contest by racing to the pylon for a 1-yard score. ... New York DE Muhammad Wilkerson was ejected after he threw several punches following Cobb's 2-point conversion in the third quarter. ... Nelson's touchdown reception was the fourth of 80-plus yards in his career, tying Greg Jennings for the franchise record.
