49ers 34, Packers 28: Colin Kaepernick recorded a career-high 412 passing yards and Frank Gore had the game-winning touchdown run with 5:51 remaining as host San Francisco edged Green Bay.

Moments after rookie Eddie Lacy put the Packers ahead with a 2-yard scoring run, the 49ers regained the lead for good. Kaepernick connected with Anquan Boldin on a 43-yard passing play and Gore capped the five-play, 80-yard drive with a 1-yard plunge.

Boldin exploded for 208 yards on 13 catches in his San Francisco debut while Vernon Davis added 98 receiving yards and a pair of TDs in an entertaining rematch of last year's NFC divisional final. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 21-of-37 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns while Jordy Nelson was his favorite target with seven catches for 130 yards and a score.

Kaepernick went to work early, connecting with Davis on a 20-yard touchdown strike late in the first quarter. Green Bay responded on the next drive, marching 80 yards in six plays capped by Rogers' 5-yard TD pass to Randall Cobb.

A Boldin 10-yard scoring grab put San Francisco back in front 6:03 into the second quarter, but the Packers drew even in the waning moments as tight end Jermichael Finley dodged a tackle and sprawled into the end zone for a 12-yard score. Davis and Nelson traded third-quarter TD catches before a Phil Dawson 27-yard field goal gave the 49ers their fourth lead of the game in the opening minute of the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kaepernick obliterated his previous career high of 302 passing yards set in last season's Super Bowl loss to Baltimore. ... Packers WR James Jones, who led the team with 14 touchdown receptions in 2012, was held without a catch Sunday. ... Following the game, head referee Bill Leavy admitted the officiating crew blew a call that led to Boldin's first scoring pass, mistakenly giving San Francisco an extra down. ... The teams combined for 879 yards of total offense.
