Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 36-yard field goal with 12:47 left in overtime and the Oakland Raiders kept their playoff hopes alive with a 16-13 victory over the host Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.

The Raiders (8-7) snapped a three-game losing streak and can win the AFC West with a victory over San Diego next week, coupled with a Kansas City win at Denver.

Oakland forced overtime when Richard Seymour blocked Ryan Succop’s 50-yard field goal attempt on the final play of regulation for his second block of the game.

Carson Palmer threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Denarius Moore in the third quarter to give the Raiders a 10-6 lead.

After Janikowski’s 31-yard field goal with 2:57 remaining put the Raiders ahead 13-6, Kansas City’s Kyle Orton connected with Dwayne Bowe for a 3-yard score with 1:02 remaining to tie the game.

The Chiefs (6-9), who have lost six straight against the Raiders at home, were eliminated from playoff contention.

Palmer finished 16 of 26 for 237 yards; Orton was 21 of 36 for 300 yards. Each threw two interceptions.

Oakland appeared to take a 10-3 lead midway through the second quarter when Brandon Myers took a shovel pass from holder Shane Lechler and ran 36 yards for a touchdown on a fake field goal. A delay-of-game penalty nullified the score, though, and Janikowski ultimately missed from 59 yards when his kick hit the crossbar.

Succop tied a club record with his 22nd straight field goal, a 23-yarder to make it 3-3. The streak ended, though, when his 49-yard attempt was blocked by Seymour on the last play of the first half.
