Patrick Peterson recorded his fourth touchdown on a punt return this season and Beanie Wells ran for 228 yards and a score as the Arizona Cardinals posted a 23-20 road victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

Jay Feely booted three field goals - including a game-winning 22-yarder with 4:09 remaining - for Arizona, which has won 11 of its last 12 meetings with the Rams and seven straight in St. Louis.

Peterson's 80-yard punt return for a score late in the third quarter gave him a share of the all-time record set in 1951 by Detroit's Jack Christiansen and equaled by Denver's Rick Upchurch (1976) and Chicago's Devin Hester (2007).

Peterson's touchdown, which came three minutes after a 7-yard scoring run by Wells, provided the Cardinals a 20-10 lead with 2:56 remaining in the third quarter. But in the fourth, Josh Brown kicked a 48-yard field goal and Sam Bradford connected with Brandon Lloyd on a 16-yard scoring strike just three plays after Brady Poppinga recovered a fumble by Wells to forge a 20-20 tie.

Arizona (4-7) went ahead for good on its next possession as a 53-yard run by Wells set up Feely's winning kick.

Lloyd made five catches for 74 yards and Steven Jackson gained 64 yards on 17 carries for St. Louis (2-9), which fell to 1-5 at home.
