Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns, including a career-long 93-yard strike to Jordy Nelson, and the red-hot Green Bay Packers tied a franchise record with their 12th consecutive victory in a 24-3 romp over the winless St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

The defending Super Bowl champion Packers (6-0), who honored the franchise’s first-ever NFL championship by wearing the blue-and-tan uniforms of the 1929 squad, tied the team record for consecutive wins set during the 1961-62 seasons.

Green Bay, which has won eight straight at home, is 6-0 for sixth time in franchise history and the first time since 1965. Only the aforementioned undefeated 1929 Packers (12-0) and the 1931 team (9-0) had better starts.

The biggest mismatch of the week lived up to its billing as Rodgers repeatedly victimized St. Louis’ injury-ravaged secondary. As a result, the Rams (0-5) suffered their NFL-worst 28th road loss since the start of the 2007 season.

They had no shot at stopping the hottest quarterback in the league. Rodgers was 11 of 15 for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, helping the Packers to a 24-3 advantage. His 93-yard touchdown pass to Nelson gave Green Bay a 17-3 lead with 9:11 remaining in the second.

Rodgers executed a play fake and hit Nelson at the 33-yard line, and Nelson raced untouched the rest of the way after a pair of Rams collided while trying to make the tackle.

Rodgers' 7-yard touchdown pass to Donald Driver gave Green Bay a 24-0 lead with 1:51 left in the half.

The Rams had a promising opening drive, but Josh Brown’s 47-yard attempt sailed a few inches to the right.

Green Bay then took a 3-0 lead on a 32-yard field goal from Mason Crosby, and Rodgers’ 35-yard touchdown pass to James Jones made it 10-0 early in the second quarter.
