Michael Vick had a fast start and a fast finish, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 34-24 victory over the visiting Houston Texans on Thursday night.

Vick threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns and LeSean McCoy scored twice and had a combined 130 yards as the Eagles (8-4) move one-half game ahead of the New York Giants in the NFC East.

Philadelphia scored on its first three possessions of the game to take a 17-3 lead, but had to rally in the fourth quarter after the Texans charged back to take a 24-20 lead in the final minute of the third quarter.

Vick then directed two long scoring drives, capping the first with his own 2-yard run and finishing the second with a 5-yard pass to Owen Schmitt for a 34-24 cushion with 4:18 to play. Philadelphia has scored on 33 of its 55 possessions in the past five games.

Arian Foster rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown and caught a pass for another score for Houston (5-7), which dropped 1 1/2 games behind AFC South co-leaders Jacksonville and Indianapolis.

Matt Schaub finished 22 of 36 for 337 yards with a pair of touchdowns, one interception and a fumble for the Texans. Andre Johnson had six catches for 149 yards.
