LeSean McCoy broke loose for a go-ahead 50-yard touchdown run and the Philadelphia Eagles took over first place in the NFC East with a 27-17 victory over the visiting New York Giants on Sunday night.

Michael Vick threw for 258 yards on 24-of-38 passing and rushed for a touchdown and David Akers kicked four field goals as the Eagles (7-3) won their third consecutive game.

McCoy rushed for 111 yards on 14 carries, including the 50-yard gallop on a fourth-and-1 at midfield with 4:25 to play. He also had a 40-yard run to set up Akers' final field goal with 22 seconds left.

Eli Manning had a costly fumble on a fourth-and-6 scramble with 2:51 remaining that snuffed out the last hope for New York (6-4), which lost its second straight following a five-game winning streak.

Manning had rallied the Giants from a 16-3 deficit, hitting his first nine passes of the second half and throwing scoring strikes to Travis Beckum and Derek Hagan to give New York a 17-16 lead with 13:35 to play.

He finished 20 of 33 for 147 yards with the two touchdowns and three interceptions as the Giants lost to their division rival for the fifth straight time.

Jeremy Maclin had nine receptions for 120 yards for Philadelphia.

The Giants were fortunate to be within 13-3 at halftime after the Eagles could manage just a pair of field goals by Akers following back-to-back turnovers in the second quarter.

New York's Terrell Thomas blocked a 42-yard field goal attempt by Akers on the final play of the half.

Philadelphia's Jason Avant dropped a sure touchdown pass following an interception by Asante Samuel, which came three plays after the Eagles recovered a fumble by Ahmad Bradshaw - his league-leading sixth of the season.

Vick gave the Eagles a 7-0 lead when he sprinted into the end zone from 4 yards out to cap a 13-play, 68-yard drive late in the first quarter.

The Giants responded with their only sustained drive of the opening half on the ensuing possession, but had to settle for a 24-yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes.

Philadelphia’s Ellis Hobbs suffered a neck injury while returning the second-half kickoff. He was face-down for about 15 minutes before being carted off the field, but reportedly had movement in all his extremities. X-rays were negative.
