Arian Foster’s 74-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter snapped a tie score and powered the Houston Texans to a 31-24 win over the Raiders at Oakland on Sunday.

Foster, who sat out the first quarter for disciplinary reasons, finished with 131 yards on 16 carries. He also caught one of Matt Schaub’s two touchdown passes.

Houston built a 31-14 lead early in the fourth quarter, but Oakland (1-3) cut the deficit to 31-24 on a touchdown pass by Bruce Gradkowski to Zach Miller and a field goal by Sebastian Janikowski.

The Raiders got the ball back late in the fourth quarter but Gradkowski (24 of 39, 278 yards) was intercepted at midfield and the Texans ran out the clock.

Derrick Ward, who started for Foster, opened the scoring with a 33-yard touchdown run. Schaub also threw a scoring pass to Joel Dreessen from 11 yards out for Houston (3-1).

Oakland’s Michael Bush had a 2-yard scoring run and Marcel Reese caught a 13-yard touchdown pass.

Miller led all receivers with 122 yards on 11 catches.

Texans receiver Andre Johnson missed the game with an ankle injury.
