J.J. Starling scored a game-high 22 points to help Notre Dame cruise to a 76-62 victory over Louisville on Saturday in South Bend, Ind.

The Fighting Irish (10-12, 2-9 Atlantic Coast Conference) snapped a four-game losing streak and picked up their second conference victory. Louisville (2-19, 0-10), in turn, saw its losing skid extend to 10 games.

Nate Laszewski added 17 points, Cormac Ryan chipped in 11 and Dane Goodwin posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Notre Dame.

It was Goodwin's second double-double of the season, and both have come in ACC victories. He also had a 19-point, 12-rebound performance in a 73-72 overtime win against Georgia Tech on Jan. 10.

Mike James scored 14 points for Louisville, while Jae'Lyn Withers had 10 while dealing with foul trouble.

Notre Dame took control of the game in the first half and never looked back, leading by as many as 30 points.

Louisville led 9-7 before Trey Wertz nailed a 3-pointer to give Notre Dame a lead it would not relinquish. The Fighting Irish finished the first half on a 39-15 run.

The Cardinals simply made too many mistakes to limit the damage. Louisville committed 12 turnovers for the game, compared to just three by Notre Dame.

The teams shot the ball with similar success, Notre Dame shot 45.3 percent from the field and 35.7 percent on 3-pointers. Louisville converted on 46.3 percent of field goals and 34.8 percent of 3-pointers.

Louisville have now gone 11 straight games without scoring at least 75 points. The Cardinals entered Saturday last in the ACC and 337th in the country in team scoring averaging 62.5 points per game.

Louisville returns to conference play on Wednesday when it hosts Georgia Tech.

Notre Dame will try to build its first ACC win streak of the season next Saturday against Wake Forest.
