Christian Bishop had 17 points and nine rebounds and Mitch Ballock added 14 points as No. 19 Creighton topped Georgetown 63-48 on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., avenging a loss to the Hoyas last week.

Winning for the fifth time in six games, the Bluejays (15-5, 11-4 Big East) never trailed and led by as many as 24 points while collecting a season-high 19 steals, including four apiece from Ballock and Denzel Mahoney.

Jamorko Pickett registered a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Hoyas (5-10, 3-7). Jahvon Blair had eight points and five assists.

After shooting 50 percent from the floor en route to an 86-79 road upset of the Bluejays on Feb. 3, the Hoyas were held to just 27.6 percent accuracy from the floor Tuesday compared to 44.1 percent for the Bluejays.

Damien Jefferson also finished in double figures for the Bluejays, scoring 12 points.

Georgetown missed nine successive field-goal attempts during one stretch early in the second half, as offensive inconsistency added up during the team's seventh loss in nine games. The Hoyas committed 24 turnovers, the third time they've had at least 20 giveaways this season, while forcing the Bluejays into 17 turnovers.

In the first half, the Hoyas endured another significant dry spell, going scoreless over 8:30 as Creighton took control with a 9-0 run. A Qudus Wahab dunk brought Georgetown to within 22-19 with 7:59 to go before halftime, but the Hoyas wouldn't score again until a Pickett jumper with 1:29 before the half.

Wahab added eight rebounds.

Creighton took a 33-21 lead into the break. Bishop (10 points) and Ballock (eight) boosted the Bluejays, who shot 45.2 percent in the first 20 minutes. Chudier Bile had a team-best six points for Georgetown, which shot just 26.7 percent (8-for-30) in the first half.

With the victory, Creighton took a 10-8 lead in the all-time series against Georgetown.
