Devon Daniels, who returned to the starting lineup after a game off the bench, scored 18 points as North Carolina State defeated UMass-Lowell 90-59 on Thursday at Uncasville, Conn.

Jericole Hellems and Cam Hayes both had 17 points for the Wolfpack in the overwhelming victory in the first-ever meeting between the teams.

NC State (3-0), playing its first game away from home, shot 12-for-28 on 3-pointers, with Thomas Allen and Hayes both connecting on three. Seven Wolfpack players made at least one shot from long range. That was part of the team's overall shooting of 52.3 percent from the field.

The Wolfpack has won 23 consecutive nonconference games against unranked opponents. NC State is 11-0 all-time against members of the America East Conference.

Darion Jordan-Thomas scored 12 points for UMass-Lowell (1-3), which shot 3-for-15 on 3-point attempts. Obadiah Noel and Salif Boudie both added 10 points.

Noel, who averaged 24 points across the team's first three games, was picked as the America East Player of the Week. With Thursday's production, he has 30 consecutive games in double-figure scoring, a Division I program record for the River Hawks.

NC State led 43-19 at halftime.

UMass-Lowell was charged with 19 turnovers compared to 10 for the Wolfpack. NC State boosted its cumulative turnover margin for the season to plus-41.

Under coach Kevin Keatts, NC State is 41-8 when it holds an opponent to under 70 points.

This game was added to the teams' schedules earlier in the week. It marked the first game off campus for NC State, which was supposed to play William & Mary on Monday night but that game was called off due to William & Mary's coronavirus concerns.

NC State will stay in the northeast and faces Connecticut on Sunday at the same site.

For UMass-Lowell, it was the return to the site dubbed Bubbleville, where it opened the season by defeating San Francisco.
