Efe Abogidi scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double as Washington State cruised to a 90-62 victory against Prairie View A&M in a nonconference game Monday night in Pullman, Wash.
Noah Williams totaled 13 points, Isaac Bonton had 12 points and seven assists and Andrej Jakimovski and Aljaz Kunc added 11 points apiece in the Cougars' balanced attack.
Washington State (7-0) is off to its best start since it began the 2007-08 season by going 14-0.
Prairie View A&M (1-3) was led by a trio of transfers. Damari Parris (Eastern Michigan) led the Panthers with 15 points, Cam Mack (Nebraska) added 14 points and a game-high 10 assists and Jawaun Daniels (Odessa College) scored 11.
The Panthers were playing for the first time since having to pull out of a tournament Nov. 29 at Louisville because of coronavirus concerns.
Williams' 3-pointer opened the scoring in the first minute and Prairie View A&M never pulled even.
The Cougars led 17-13 before going on a 12-0 run, capped by Ryan Rapp's second 3-pointer during that stretch, to extend their lead to double digits.
The Panthers never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way and trailed 47-30 at the intermission.
The Cougars' largest lead, 28 points, came in the final minute.
Washington State shot 48.4 percent from the field (30 of 62) and was 13 of 27 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Cougars outrebounded the Panthers 49-30, leading to a 27-10 advantage in second-chance points.
Prairie View A&M shot 39.1 percent (25 of 64) and just 4 of 24 from 3-point range.
After rallying to win their first four games of the season and then posting a nine-point victory, the Cougars have won each of their past two games by 28 points. They defeated Montana State 82-54 on Friday.
