The Red Raiders built a 54-39 lead at halftime, behind Ramsey's 8-of-10 shooting, despite their outlook looking bleak in the early going.

Texas Tech rallied for 14 straight points after falling behind 9-0 with 17:56 left in the first half. Texas Tech coach Chris Beard was forced to call timeout after the slow start, and the Red Raiders responded.

They would not trail again after building a 25-13 lead, capped by a Ramsey 3-pointer with 12:28 left until halftime. Ramsey had nine points already by that point.

Ryan Gomes made a layup with 18:33 left in regulation to cut Texas Tech's lead to 56-43, but the Red Raiders would go on an 11-2 run to put the game out of reach.
