Sixth-ranked Kentucky rallied from down 18 points with less than 13 minutes remaining to stun Florida 71-70 on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams at Gainesville, Fla.
The Wildcats (25-6, 15-3 Southeastern Conference) came into the matchup with the SEC regular-season championship already sewn up and without key contributor Ashton Hagans, who missed the trip to Gainesville, Florida, for personal reasons.
Nick Richards powered the Wildcats' comeback with 17 of his 19 points coming in the second half.
Scottie Lewis scored 19 points for the Gators (19-12, 11-7)
Kentucky fell behind by double digits a little more than 10 minutes into the game. The Wildcats played from behind throughout, taking their only lead of the afternoon on EJ Montgomery's tip-in of a missed Keion Brooks Jr. lay-up with 11 seconds remaining.
Montgomery's put-back -- initially called an offensive goaltending, but reversed upon video review -- capped a rollicking 30-11 run to close out the game.
Kentucky's run from down 18 points began appropriately on a basket by Richards.
Richards was one of four Wildcats to score in double-figures, joined by Immanuel Quickley with 12 points and Johnny Juzang and Brooks with 10 points apiece.
Florida fouled Richards to send him to the free throw line with three seconds remaining. He missed the front-end of a one-and-one, setting up a potential game-winning possession for the Gators.
Andrew Nembhard dribbled down the court and got off a clean look at a 3-pointer from the deep right wing. His attempt bounced on the rim and rolled from side-to-side before falling off.
Nembhard finished with seven points and a game-high eight assists.
Noah Locke notched 14 points, and Keyontae Johnson added 12 points.
Florida appeared ready to pull away in the second half when a technical foul on Kentucky coach John Calipari kicked off a 7-0 Gators run. After a Nembhard jump shot at 11:48, however, Florida went 3:30 without another made field goal and knocked down only four field goals total over the final 8:18.
