David Crisp scored 26 points to lead Washington to a 94-88 victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday night at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.

Noah Dickerson had 23 points and seven rebounds for Washington (3-1). Markelle Fultz had 21 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Evan Payne scored 19 points for Long Beach State (1-5). Gabe Levin added 15 points and six rebounds.

Washington trailed by two late in the game, but Matisse Thybulle made two 3-pointers to fuel a 9-0 run that put the Huskies up 75-68 with just over five minutes remaining. That gave the Huskies the cushion they needed to prevail.

Long Beach State came out aggressively, outscoring Washington 8-0 to start the game. The 49ers went up 11-2 on a 3-pointer by Noah Blackwell and stretched the lead to 10 on another 3-pointer by Blackwell moments later. The 49ers led by six when Crisp scored to spark a 16-2 run for the Huskies, who went up 36-28 on a jumper by Dickerson with 1:11 to play in the half.

Washington led 36-32 at the break and extended the margin to six on a couple of occasions early in the second half, but Long Beach State wouldn't go away. The 49ers tied the game on a 3-pointer by Jordan Griffin and reclaimed the lead moments later.

There were several ties and lead changes over the final 15 minutes. The 49ers took a 53-47 advantage on a jumper by Griffin. The Huskies went on top 75-68 on a 3-pointer by Thybulle and grabbed a 78-70 lead on a 3-pointer by Crisp.

Long Beach State cut the deficit to four with just over two minutes remaining, but the 49ers couldn't get any closer.
