Forward Abdul-Malik Abu's 11 points and forward BeeJay Anya's 10 points helped the Wolfpack (9-3), who have won five games in a row. It was the lowest point total of the season for N.C. State.
The Wolfpack began the second half with an 11-4 spurt, with Anya scoring five.
But the Spartans closed within 41-37 with about six minutes left on forward Kayel Locke's basket off a rebound and later UNCG pulled even at 46-46 on guard Diante Baldwin's basket.

Barber ended up shooting 10 for 18 from the field. The rest of the Wolfpack's backcourt shot a combined 2 of 17.
N.C. State led 20-18 at halftime, though neither team shot 30 percent from the field. The Wolfpack ended up at 40.4 percent.
