Junior center Cameron Ridley had a season-high 19 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots to lead Texas to a resounding 116-50 victory over visiting UTSA on Tuesday night at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.
Freshman guard Tevin Mack came off the bench to score 17 points for the Longhorns (5-3). Freshman guard Kerwin Roach Jr. scored 14 points, freshman forward Jordan Barnett had 12 and freshman guard Eric Davis Jr. added 11.
Senior guard George Matthews scored 12 points to lead the Roadrunners (1-8). Senior guard Ryan Bowie had 10.
Texas outscored UTSA 18-2 over the first 7:14 and took a 28-6 lead on a dunk by Ridley with 11:10 remaining in the first half. The Longhorns mounted a 12-1 run to go up 40-9 and carried a 56-17 lead into intermission.
The onslaught continued in the second half. Texas took a 72-26 lead on a 3-pointer by Mack with 14:51 to go and extended its lead to 90-30 on a dunk by Ridley with 8:54 remaining. The Longhorns led by as many as 67 points.
Texas shot 64.7 percent from the field while holding UTSA to 32.7-percent shooting.
