LSU 87, No. 11 Kentucky 82:
Johnny O’Bryant III scored a season-high 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Tigers stunned the visiting Wildcats.

Shavon Coleman added 14 points, a season-high nine rebounds and five assists while Jordan Mickey finished with 14 points and five blocks for LSU (13-6, 4-3 SEC). Andre Stringer and Jarell Martin contributed nine points apiece for the Tigers.

James Young had 23 points and seven rebounds to lead Kentucky (15-5, 5-2). Dakari Johnson scored a season-high 15 points off the bench, Aaron Harrison finished with 14 points and Alex Poythress scored 10 for the Wildcats.

LSU blitzed Kentucky right from the opening tip, scoring 12 of the game’s first 14 points and extending its lead to as much as 16 just 6½ minutes into the game. Kentucky found its footing and managed to trim the deficit to 42-36 at the half.

The Tigers scored the first four points of the second half to retake a double-digit lead and the Wildcats didn’t get any closer than seven until Aaron Harrison made a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to six with 27 seconds left. Harrison sank another 3 to trim the deficit to five with 15 seconds remaining but Kentucky did not get off another shot.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kentucky freshman F Julius Randle, who came in averaging a team-high 16.6 points, finished with a season-low six points on 3-for-11 shooting. … O’Bryant finished one point short of his career high and one rebound shy of his 22nd career double-double. … Kentucky fell to 83-25 all-time against LSU while coach John Calipari dropped to 5-1 against the Tigers.
