No. 22 Iowa State 110, Missouri-Kansas City 51: DeAndre Kane scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Cyclones celebrated their season's debut in the Top 25 by hammering the visiting Kangaroos.
Sherron Dorsey-Walker came off the bench to score 17 points and Matt Thomas added 14 as the Cyclones started the season 5-0 for the second time under coach Fred Hoiberg. Melvin Ejim added 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Martez Harrison paced Kansas City with 14 points for the Kangaroos (1-4). Kansas City, coming off its first win of the season, knocked down just one of its first 17 3-point attempts and were outrebounded 59-31.
The Cyclones scored the game's first six points but the Kangaroos kept in striking distance until Iowa State finished the first half on a 33-4 run to take a 52-17 lead into the break. The final score was Iowa State's largest lead of the game.
The Cyclones finished 12-for-32 from beyond the arc and shot 51.4 percent from the field. Nelson Kirksey added 11 points for the Kangaroos.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Iowa State has had at least four players in double figures in every game this season. ...The Cyclones went over 100 points for the first time since Dec. 21, 2010 when they beat Chicago State 104-63. ...Monte Morris had 11 points for Iowa State.
