No. 25 Notre Dame 62, Cincinnati 41: Jerian Grant scored 13 points and Tom Knight added 12 to help the host Fighting Irish down the slumping Bearcats in Big East play.

Jack Cooley had 11 points and eight rebounds and Eric Atkins contributed 11 points and six assists as Notre Dame (22-6, 10-5 Big East) won for the seventh time in nine games.

JaQuon Parker scored 12 points for Cincinnati (19-9, 7-8), which has lost five of six games. Leading scorer Sean Kilpatrick had just six points on 3-for-13 shooting and the team's second-leading scorer, Cashmere Wright, was held scoreless.

Notre Dame asserted itself early with a 16-2 run to take a 22-6 lead with seven minutes to go in the first half. The Bearcats shot just 28 percent in the half and trailed 29-15 at the break.

The Fighting Irish led by 19 points early in the second half before Cincinnati scored eight straight points as part of a 15-5 burst that cut Notre Dame’s lead to 39-30. Cooley followed with a three-point play to start an 11-2 surge as Notre Dame stretched its advantage back to 18.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Zach Auguste had a game-high nine rebounds as the Fighting Irish posted a dominating 41-25 edge on the boards. … Cincinnati is winless in five visits to South Bend. … The 41 points are the fewest Notre Dame has allowed in a Big East game.
