Arkansas 62, Georgia 60: BJ Young made a layup with six seconds remaining and the host Razorbacks escaped with the SEC victory when the Bulldogs missed at the buzzer.

Anthlon Bell scored a season-high 17 points to lead Arkansas (17-9, 8-5 SEC). The freshman guard came in averaging 3.4 points and had not scored in the last seven games, failing to appear in two. Marshawn Powell overcame foul trouble to score 11 for the Razorbacks.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who came in averaging 17.7 points, scored all 15 of his points in the final 13:31 to help Georgia (12-14, 6-7) mount a comeback. Senior guard Sherrard Brantley contributed a career-high 10 points for the Bulldogs.

A 10-0 run by Georgia tied the score at 41 with 9:40 remaining and the score was tied eight more times down the stretch before Young’s winning layup. Young, the team’s leading scorer coming in (16.5), finished with eight points.

Arkansas raced to a 20-9 lead with 8:14 left in the first half as Georgia missed 10 of its first 12 shots. The Razorbacks carried a 28-18 lead into the first half, as the Bulldogs finished 4-for-22 in the opening 20 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Razorbacks have won three straight conference games for the first time since the 2009-10 season. … Arkansas improved to 16-1 on its home floor. … Caldwell-Pope has reached double-figures in scoring in every game this season, one of 11 players in Division I to stake that claim coming into the week.
