La Salle 54, No. 9 Butler 53: Ramon Galloway’s layup with three seconds left capped a back-and-forth final two minutes as the host Explorers snapped the Bulldogs’ 13-game winning streak.

Galloway’s basket, the fourth lead change in the final 61 seconds, lifted La Salle (13-5, 3-2 Atlantic 10) to its third victory in four games. Andrew Smith had put Butler (16-3, 3-1) ahead 53-52 five seconds earlier on a layup. Roosevelt Jones missed a 3-pointer with three seconds left that would have rescued the Bulldogs.

Tyreek Duren scored 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting to lead La Salle. Sam Mills added 11 points, including a basket with 33 seconds to go to put the Explorers ahead 52-51.

Smith led Butler with 16 points, six coming in the final two minutes. Kellen Dunham added 15 points and Jones scored 14.

La Salle trailed by as many as 10 points late in the first half, but surged back to take a 41-40 lead on Duren’s layup with 10:02 remaining. Tyrone Garland’s 3-pointer with 7:42 left capped an 11-2 run and pushed the Explorers’ advantage to 46-42.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Butler’s Rotnei Clarke missed his third consecutive game with a sprained neck. Clarke leads the Bulldogs in scoring at 16.3. … Jones’ three-point-play with 3:47 left in the opening half staked the Bulldogs to a 25-15 lead. La Salle sliced the deficit to 28-23 at halftime on Mills’ layup with four seconds remaining.
