Texas Tech 70, Florida A&M 56: Josh Gray and Trency Jackson each scored 10 points and the Red Raiders used a 15-3 run late in the first half to pull away and eventually subdue the visiting Rattlers.

Leading 22-21 with 3:25 remaining in the opening half, Texas Tech (7-4) got a pair of 3-pointers from Dusty Hannahs during the decisive spurt. Jordan Tolbert tallied nine points and a season-high 10 rebounds for the Red Raiders while Dejan Kravic added eight points and a career-high nine boards.

Despite shooting just 39.2 percent from the field, Texas Tech shot a season-best 81.8 from the free throw line, converting 27-of-33. The Red Raiders, who lead the Big 12 in steals (9.9), tallied 11 - led by Gray's four.

Florida A&M (4-9), which led by as many as seven early in the first half, dropped its third straight on its five-game road swing. Jamie Adams led the Rattlers with 22 points.

NOTEBOOK: Jaye Crockett, the top scoring sixth man among the BCS conferences at 16.2 points, had just five to snap a string of nine straight games in double figures. ... Texas Tech leaves Lubbock for the first time this season when it travels to TCU on Saturday for the Big 12 opener against one of the league's newcomers. ... Florida A&M finished 0-5 against schools from BCS conferences and is winless in nine games against members of the Big 12.
