JayVaughn Pinkston collected 16 points and eight assists and James Bell scored 15 as the visiting Wildcats rolled over the Hawks.

Tony Chennault chipped in 11 and Darrun Hilliard scored 10 for Villanova (8-4), which went 15-for-22 from 3-point range in winning its fourth straight.

Andrew Nichols scored 16 points and Marcus Ware had 12 as Monmouth (5-7) suffered its fourth consecutive setback.

Villanova hit seven 3-pointers in the first half and took a 44-29 lead into the break. Bell, Chennault and Ryan Arcidiacono each hit a pair from beyond the arc in the period.

Nichols scored six straight points during a 7-0 run to open the second half and trim the deficit to single digits. But the Wildcats responded with a 10-0 burst, capped by back-to-back 3-pointers from Pinkston and Bell, and were never threatened the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Villanova has beaten Monmouth by a total of 63 points in two games over the last two seasons. … The Hawks entered as one of the worst shooting teams in Division I at 38.3 percent and saw that average dip with a 34.6 percent effort Saturday. … The teams combined for 42 turnovers, with Monmouth (23) leading the way.
