Maryland 76, Stony Brook 69: Dez Wells and Alex Len each scored 19 points as the host Terrapins held on to win their 10th game in a row.
Maryland (10-1) led by double digits for most of the game, but the Seawolves (8-3) rallied to pull within 71-69 on Anthony Jackson’s 3-pointer with 34 seconds left. But free throws from Pe’Shon Howard and Nick Faust sealed the victory for the Terrapins.
Maryland used a 10-2 run early in the first half to establish a double-digit lead against the Seawolves. Wells scored the first eight points of the run, and Charles Mitchell’s layup with 12:54 left in the half gave the Terrapins a 22-10 advantage.
Maryland hit 15 of its first 21 shots from the field and finished shooting 52.8 percent (28-for-53). Len shot 8-of-14 from the field and Wells sank 7 of 9 attempts.
Jameel Warney led Stony Brook with 17 points.
