Bryant (3-2) trailed 46-38 with 8:58 remaining in the game before going on a 13-3 run over the next 3:50, capped by Starks' 3-pointer to give the Bulldogs a 51-49 lead with 5:08 left. The Bulldogs held the advantage from there.
Boston College (2-4) had the ball twice in the final five seconds with a chance to tie or win, but an offensive foul on Olivier Hanlan with 3.9 seconds gave the ball back to Bryant.
The Bulldogs had an inbound violation, giving the Eagles one last shot, but Ryan Anderson missed a 30-foot heave at the buzzer.
Frankie Dobbs added 15 points for Bryant, which connected on eight 3-pointers in the game, compared to only four on 19 attempts for Boston College. Hanlan paced the Eagles with a game-high 19 points.
