Kyle Wiltjer knocked down seven 3-pointers en route to 23 points as the host Wildcats bounced back from their first loss by trouncing the Leopards.

Alex Poythress added 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting and Nerlens Noel collected 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals for Kentucky (2-1), which lost to Duke on Monday.

All four freshmen reached double figures for the Wildcats, with Archie Goodwin scoring 13 and Willie Cauley-Stein chipping in 14 off the bench. Kentucky forced 27 turnovers and shot 64.5 percent from the floor.

The Wildcats built up a 51-31 lead at the half behind 12 points from Poythress. Wiltjer got hot after the break, knocking down four 3-pointers during a 27-0 run that began with 8:50 left in the contest and stretched the lead out to 101-41 before Kentucky emptied the bench.

Tony Johnson was the only Lafayette player to reach double figures with 13 points for the Leopards (1-2), who were without leading scorer Dan Trist.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Leopards went 6-for-23 from beyond the arc and only attempted one free throw in the contest. … Kentucky PG Ryan Harrow (illness) missed his second straight game. … Lafayette dropped to 0-9 all-time against SEC schools.
