TEMPLE 80, LA SALLE 79 (OT): Khalif Wyatt scored 25 points to pace a balanced attack as the No. 22 Owls fought off the host Explorers for their 11th consecutive victory.

Wyatt made 7 of 11 field goals, among them four 3-pointers, as the Owls (22-5, 11-2) retained first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Micheal Eric added 18 points, 12 in the first half when Temple took a 32-29 lead, and 10 rebounds.

The loss ruined a career-high 33-point effort from La Salle’s Earl Pettis, who hit a 3-pointer with 1:26 to tie the game and force overtime. Pettis scored five points in overtime, but missed a 3-point with 1.9 seconds left.

Temple also got 18 points and eight rebounds from Ramone Moore and 12 points from Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson.

La Salle (18-10, 7-6) got 12 points each from Ramon Galloway and Sam Mills and 10 from Tyreek Duren.

The game was tied at 71 at the end of regulation. Pettis gave La Salle the lead with a 3-pointer, only to have Temple go on a 9-0 run. La Salle drew to within a point on a 3-pointer by Duren and a short jumper from Pettis.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The teams combined to make 35 of 39 free throws. ... Juan Fernandez had a team-high seven assists and eight rebounds for Temple, but scored only two points. ... Temple outrebounded La Salle 40-26.
