NORTH CAROLINA 73, MIAMI 64: Harrison Barnes broke out of shooting slump with a game-high 23 points as the No. 7 Tar Heels came from behind to hand the Hurricanes their third loss at home.

Barnes, who shot 36.2 percent the previous four games, scored 14 of his points in the second half as North Carolina (22-4, 9-2 ACC) won for the seventh time in eight games. Barnes had nine points in an 11-2 run that gave North Carolina a 47-46 lead and the Tar Heels’ defense took over from there.

John Henson added 14 points and 11 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season and Kendall Marshall dished out nine assists for North Carolina, which has beaten Miami 10 straight times.

Durand Scott scored 15 points and Kenny Kadji had 13 for Miami (15-9, 6-5), which dropped its second straight after winning five in a row.

Miami led by as much as eight in the first half, but settled for a 35-30 halftime lead. Trey McKinney Jones came off the bench to score eight of his 11 points for the Hurricanes in the opening 20 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
North Carolina coach Roy Williams moved past UCLA’s John Wooden for 23rd on the all-time Division I list with his 665th win. … Marshall was 0 for 6 from the field. ... Reggie Johnson had 10 rebounds for Miami.
