TENNESSEE 69, SOUTH CAROLINA 57:
Skylar McBee scored 11 of his game-high 18 points in the first half and the host Volunteers held off a late charge for their 10th consecutive win over the Gamecocks.

Tennessee (12-12, 4-5 SEC) closed the first half on a 14-3 run for a 35-27 lead and never trailed again to extend its longest active win streak against a Southeastern Conference opponent.

South Carolina (9-14, 1-8) pulled within three at 58-55 with less than four minutes left before Tennessee rattled off seven quick points to push the lead back to double digits and seal the win.

The Volunteers continue to rely heavily on the 3-pointer. They entered the game shooting 39.8 percent from 3-point range in wins and 29.8 percent in losses, and were 10 for 20 (50 percent) on Wednesday. McBee made three 3-pointers during the pivotal stretch at the end of the half.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Gamecocks continued their offensive woes on the road - they entered the game averaging 59.2 points away from home. … South Carolina has not beaten Tennessee since 2007 and has not won in Knoxville since 2002. … Tennessee was without freshman big man Jarnell Stokes, who sprained his right wrist in practice Tuesday.
