Glen Rice Jr. fought off a toe injury to collect 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench and lead Georgia Tech to a 51-47 victory over Boston College on Saturday.

Kammeon Holsey and Daniel Miller added 10 points apiece and Mfon Udofia handed out six assists for the Yellow Jackets (9-14, 2-7 ACC), who snapped a six-game slide and pulled out of sole possession of last place in the ACC.

Joining Georgia Tech in the basement are the Eagles (7-16, 2-7), who have lost six in a row.

The two lowest-scoring teams in the ACC played a predictably slow pace. Georgia Tech managed to hold Boston College to 35 percent shooting and forced 14 turnovers.

Ryan Anderson’s line-drive 3-pointer for the Eagles knotted it a 44-44 with 3:08 left but Holsey responded with a jumper at the other end to put the Yellow Jackets back on top.

The Eagles had a chance to tie it again with 1:07 left but Dennis Clifford split a part of free throws to leave it a one-point deficit. Rice got his own rebound and tipped in back in with 47 seconds on the clock and Georgia Tech was able to hold on.

Ryan Humphrey scored 15 points to lead Boston College.
