Patric Young scored 15 points and No. 13 Florida survived a dreadful start by rallying from 16 points down to beat host Mississippi 64-60.

The Gators (16-4, 4-1 SEC) won their fourth SEC game in a row, setting up Saturday’s matchup with No. 16 Mississippi State in Gainesville. Florida is third in the SEC, 1½ games behind conference leader Kentucky and one-half game ahead of the Bulldogs.

The Rebels (13-7, 3-3 SEC) jumped all over Florida at the beginning, scoring 14 unanswered points in building a 20-4 lead with 12 minutes left in the first half.

Florida clawed its way back within 38-28 at halftime. A 14-6 second-half run capped by Young’s dunk gave the Gators their first lead since the opening minute at 48-46 with 8:09 to go.

The Gators used a Mike Rosario 3-pointer and two 3’s from Kenny Boynton to build a61-54 advantage with 1:49 remaining. The Rebels pulled within 63-60 and forced a turnover with 18.2 seconds left, but turned the ball over with 9.5 seconds to go.

Boynton finished with 12 points, and Erving Walker added 10 points and nine assists.

Terrance Henry scored 21 points to lead the Rebels, who host South Carolina Saturday. The loss was Mississippi’s first at home this season.
