Freshman Le’Bryan Nash tied a career-high with 21 points to help host Oklahoma State cruise to an easy 72-65 victory over rival Oklahoma on Monday night.

The Cowboys (9-7, 2-1 Big 12) went on a 14-2 run to close the first half and take a commanding 35-22 lead at the break, and then they led by double digits for much of the second half.

After halftime, Oklahoma State’s lead swelled to 52-35 on Nash’s tip-in with 12:26 remaining.

Keiton Page added 18 points and Brian Williams had 13 for Oklahoma State, which won for only the third time in the last eight games.

Carl Blair scored 20 points off the bench to lead the Sooners (10-5, 0-3 Big 12), who dropped their third in a row after rolling through the non-conference schedule with a 10-2 record.

Steven Pledger, Oklahoma’s leading scorer, finished with only nine points and is shooting just 29 percent from the field in Big 12 play.

The Sooners entered the game as the conference’s worst shooting team, and they shot only 24 percent in the first half and 32 percent for the game.
