Hollis Thompson’s 20 points carried things offensively for the Hoyas (13-2), who saw the end of their 11-game win streak and fell to 3-1 in conference play. Georgetown was 2-of-14 from 3-point range in the game, well short of its 36.5 percent for the season and hit for just 40.4 percent from the field overall.

West Virginia led 29-27 at halftime and for the most part, never looked back, matching its biggest lead of the game several times down the stretch. The Mountaineers shot 60 percent from the field in the second half and 50 percent overall. Georgetown did give West Virginia some trouble with the full-court press late and pulled to within 62-58 with 2:26 to go but the Mountaineers answered immediately and went on to put the game away from the free-throw line.
