Jared Sullinger had 19 points and 13 rebounds as No. 7 Ohio State pounded visiting Nebraska 71-40 Tuesday.
Deshaun Thomas added 15 points for the Buckeyes (14-2, 2-1 Big Ten), who rebounded nicely from Saturday’s four-point road loss at No. 12 Indiana with their 12th double-digit win and 35th straight win at home.
Nebraska (8-6, 0-3) scored the first basket of the game, but Ohio State answered with 17 of the next 19 points to put the game out of reach early.
The Buckeyes led 44-20 at the break and increased the margin to as many as 33 points on several occasions in the second half.
Ohio State shot 53.6 percent from the field and pounded the Huskers on the glass, 44-21, which helped the Buckeyes overcome a season-high-tying 19 turnovers and a 2-of-17 mark from the 3-point line.
Toney McCray scored 13 points to pace Nebraska, which matched its season-low point total and allowed its fifth straight opponent to shoot over 46 percent.
