Dominique Morrison scored 26 points to lift Oral Roberts to a 72-56 win over Texas Tech at the Mabee Center.

Oral Roberts (9-4) recorded its first ever win over the Red Raiders in seven tries.

Texas Tech (5-5) lost its fifth game in the last seven outings and fell to 1-5 on the road.

Morrison broke the backs of the Red Raiders with an old-fashion 3-pointer, scoring a drifting runner with just 3:43 left in the game. Morrison got nine of his points from the foul line.

Oral Roberts started quickly with a 19-2 run in the first half, backed behind four 3-pointers from four different players. The Golden Eagles held a 37-20 lead at the break with Texas Tech’s slowed-down offense attempting just 16 field goals in the first half.

The Red Raiders came out quicker in the final 20 minutes, hitting eight of their first nine shots, including a thunderous alley-oop dunk from Jordan Tolbert. The freshman star scored 19 points while Robert Lewandowski helped out with 10 points in the loss.

The Golden Eagles struggled with foul trouble late in the second half, turning to a zone defense and allowing Texas Tech to creep back into the game. The Red Raiders closed the gap to nine points with just under seven minutes remaining but couldn’t get any closer.

Warren Niles went 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, finishing with 16 points for the Golden Eagles. Damen Bell-Holter chipped in with 11 points.
