Faisal Aden scored 17 points off the bench to help Washington State record a 67-56 victory over Pepperdine in the Cougar Hardwood Classic in Seattle Thursday.

DaVonte Lacy added 15 points as the Cougars (8-4) recorded their sixth consecutive victory.

Joshua Lowery scored 14 points, Taylor Darby had 13 points and Corbin Moore added 12 points for Pepperdine (6-5), which shot just 36.2 percent from the field.

Aden was playing in his second game since returning from a concussion that caused him to miss three games. Washington State missed its first eight shots of the game before Aden scored the game’s first points on a 3-pointer nearly five minutes in.

Aden scored five consecutive points later in the half to give the Cougars a 21-7 advantage with 5:39 left in the half. Washington State led 26-15 at halftime after holding Pepperdine to 23.1 percent from the field.

The Waves pulled within 32-21 on Moore’s hoop three minutes into the second half before Washington State responded with an 11-3 run to take a 20-point lead on Aden’s basket with 14:53 remaining.
