Ben Burst scored 25 points off the bench as No. 16 Wisconsin re-asserted its homecourt dominance with a 62-51 victory over UNLV on Saturday.
Wisconsin star point guard Jordan Taylor was held to four points and went 0-of-10 from the floor but chipped in six assists for the Badgers (8-2), who won their 44th straight home game against an unranked non-conference opponent. They had lost for just the 12th time under Bo Ryan at home against a non-conference opponent when they fell to Marquette last weekend.
Wisconsin made its move midway through the first half, with Gasser capping a 13-0 run with a 3-pointer to make it 31-15.
The sophomore guard nailed five 3-pointers in the second half, each of them coming after the Rebels had threatened to crawl back into the game. His last came with 2:31 left after UNLV had pulled within eight points - the closest it would get in the second half.
The Badgers did some impressive work on the glass, outrebounding the Rebels 34-26. Mike Moser, who came in leading the nation in rebounding at 12.5, managed 11 boards for UNLV but was held to four points.
Chace Stanback scored 16 points for the Rebels (9-2).
