Corey Fisher scored 26 points and Maalik Wayns finished with 19 as No. 7 Villanova took down UCLA 82-70 on Wednesday in the semifinals of the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-off at Madison Square Garden.

Mouphtaou Yarou added 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Wildcats (5-0), who will play No. 24 Tennessee in the finals on Friday.

Villanova took control late in the first half, ending the period with a 14-2 burst to take a 44-29 lead into the break. Fisher had six points during the run and 13 in the half.

The Bruins (3-1) crept to within 58-52 when Joshua Smith capped a 10-4 spurt with a layup with 7:56 left in the game, but the Wildcats turned it back on down the stretch and pulled away. Reeves Nelson was the most impressive player for UCLA, with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Villanova easily dispatched Lafayette and Boston University in the first two rounds of the NIT, and has yet to allow a team to score more than 70 points this season.
