Erving Walker led the way with 25 points and Chandler Parsons earned his third straight double-double as No. 19 Florida continued its strong play on the road with a 79-60 victory at South Carolina Wednesday.
Parsons, the reigning U.S. Basketball Writers Association and SEC player of week, had 14 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists as the Gators (19-5, 8-2 SEC East) won their sixth of seven road games. Vernon Macklin had 16 points for Florida, winners of three straight, on 7-of-9 shooting from the field and Kenny Boynton added 12.
Macklin had 14 points in the first half, making all six of his shots from the field, as the Gators sped to a 38-27 halftime lead. Florida shot 60 percent from the field in the first half (17 of 28).
Bruce Ellington had 11 of his team-high 14 points in the first half for South Carolina (13-19, 4-5), which scored seven straight points after falling behind 9-0 but could never tie the game. Brian Richardson and Sam Muldrow added 10 points each for the Gamecocks, who finished with 18 turnovers.
