Chris Singleton scored 15 points and visiting Florida State won its fourth straight game, 74-63 over Loyola Marymount on Saturday.

Florida State (9-2), which made its first trip to California since 1988, led by five at the half. Loyola Marymount (6-6) pulled to within one with 8:51 remaining, but the Seminoles answered with a 15-5 run.

Deividas Dulkys scored 11 points and California native Michael Snaer scored 10 for Florida State, including two 3-pointers.

Facing one of the best defenses in the country, Loyola Marymount (6-6) was led by Drew Viney’s 16 points and nine rebounds. Larry Davis and Vernon Teel scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Leading 66-61 with 2:46 remaining, the Seminoles made 6-of-6 free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Derwin Kitchen scored four of his nine points in the final two minutes.

Florida State entered the game as the national leader in field goal percentage defense at 32.5 percent, but Loyola Marymount managed to shoot 25 for 53 (47.2 percent). The Lions were outrebounded 36-24.

The Seminoles, who play Hawaii in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic on Thursday morning at 1 a.m. ET, held each of their first 10 opponents of the season below 41 percent shooting from the field.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Loyola Marymount.
