It was back to business as usual for eighth-ranked Pittsburgh, as Gilbert Brown netted a career-high 28 points on 11-of-13 shooting and the Panthers dominated the boards in a 97-64 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday night.

The Panthers (11-1) were coming off their first loss in 58 games against non-conference foes in the city of Pittsburgh, but their 83-76 defeat to Tennessee last Saturday was at the Consol Energy Center, home of the NHL's Penguins.

The Panthers fit right in at the Consol with an ice-cold performance against the Vols (who were upset twice this week after beating Pitt), but had no problem heating back up at their friendly home arena, the Petersen Events Center, where they improved to 83-1 against non-conference competition.

After Maryland-Eastern Shore (2-8) pulled to within 26-22, Pitt called timeout and reeled off a 21-10 run to end the first half and continued rolling in the second.

Ashton Gibbs added 15 points and seven assists, and Gary McGhee had his third double-double of the season, with 10 points and 10 rebounds, for Pitt, which compiled an 47-19 margin on the glass.

Hillary Haley's 17 points led the Hawks.
