UNLV led by as many as 22 points in the first half and withstood a late Boise State rally to prevail 75-72 Wednesday.

No. 19 UNLV (9-0) blitzed Boise State from the opening tip, and sprinted to a 15-0 lead. The Broncos went scoreless until Robert Arnold hit a jumper with 13:41 left in the first half.

The Rebels were also hot on offense. They shot 48 percent from the floor, and got 14 points from Chace Stanback in the first half. Stanback led the Rebels with 16 points and six rebounds.

Boise State (6-2) crawled back in the second half, and used a 13-3 run to pull within six points at 72-66 with less than one minute remaining.

A jumper by the Broncos’ La’Shard Anderson made it 73-71 with 23 seconds left, but UNLV’s Tre’Von Willis made two free throws to ice the win.

Arnold and Anderson scored 18 points apiece for Boise State.
