Dwyane Wade hit the game-winning layup with four seconds left to lift the Miami Heat to a 103-101 victory over the host Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

LeBron James had 34 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, while Chris Bosh added 20 points and nine rebounds to help the Heat match their best start in franchise history.

Anthony Tolliver was fouled during a scrum under the basket and split a pair of free throws to tie things 101-101. The Heat called a timeout to set up the final play, which saw Wade come off a high screen to get free for the alley-oop off the inbound pass from James.

Wayne Ellington’s jumper with one second left didn’t fall as the Heat escaped. Miami last started 4-0 in 2004-05.

Wade, a game-time decision with a sprained ankle, finished with 19 points.

Kevin Love had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead six players in double-figures for the Timberwolves, who have dropped 18 straight games dating back to last season.
